N.C. Grange Mutual Insurance Company specializes in property insurance in the state of North Carolina only. We offer several insurance products for homes, farms, mobile and modular homes, churches, and small businesses all across the state. We are one of the largest writers of farm and rural property insurance in North Carolina. Operating since 1934, we understand the insurance needs of North Carolina property owners.

As a mutual insurance company, N.C. Grange Mutual sets its own rates, based on the experience of its policyholders. Any premium funds that exceed losses and expenses are used to increase the surplus for policyholder protection and to reduce premiums.

N.C. Grange Mutual markets its products through independent agents and is a proud company member of the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina (IIANC). The Company is represented by almost 200 independent agencies across the state of North Carolina. Independent agencies are owned and operated by people you know and trust and provide experienced, professional service both in writing coverage and in assisting you if you should ever have a claim. Independent agents offer a wide variety of products to best fit your insurance needs.

As a small mutual insurance company, we have chosen not to be rated by AM Best due to the time and expense involved. Rather, we are rated by Demotech, Inc. which specializes in regional insurance companies. In 2008, Demotech once again rated us A' Unsurpassed. In addition, GeneralReinsurance (our reinsurer and an A+ company themselves) recognizing our Company's strength, offers a "pass-thru" certificate guaranteeing N.C. Grange Mutual's ability to fulfill its obligations.

In 1969, we adopted the motto “Together We Can!” This motto reflects the way N.C. Grange Mutual, our agents and our policyholders work together for the benefit of our current and future policyholders. All of our Board of Directors and Officers as well as many of our staff are policyholders themselves.
